Drink ‘n’ Draw

at

Part networking, part artist hangout, part skills hare, part drinks. Join us for all of these parts and more as you sit with other artists for a 2-hour ticketed event, hosted by A&A owner Erin Campbell at Eno River Brewing in Hillsborough, North Carolina.

For $25 you get: A seat at the communal tables inside ERB to sketch and find inspiration with other artists, as well as a drink ticket for one beverage (NA included). The first portion of the event will be semi-structured and the remaining free form.

Need Supplies? Purchase at our store or email us for a drawing kit to be purchased during the event!

Demonstrations

We are thrilled to be hosting Artist Demonstrations during Hillsborough’s Last Friday Art Walk this 2024 season. On the last friday of the month between March and November, we will offer a look into the making process of art, as so much of the Art Walk showcases the final results. Artists will be demonstrating their craft, live, in the store. Bring your curiosity and questions!

Alexandra Gaal is an artist who sees creation as a way to process emotions, finding solace in the act itself. While she draws a range of subjects, from people to wildlife, her true passion lies in depicting outer space. Using stippling, she delves into the dimensions of space, exploring perspective and scale through a dialogue of dots that can represent stars, planets, or entire galaxies.

Wendy Aldwyn

Wendy Aldwyn is a versatile multi-media artist known for her expertise in charcoal drawing techniques and products. You can find her regularly at the Eno River Farmers' Market, where she showcases her captivating artworks. Additionally, Wendy will be sharing her skills and passion with young artists through art classes tailored for 8-10 year olds this summer.

Jillian Lea

Jillian is a compulsively creative artist and arts educator newly living again in Graham after years in Durham, NC. She works in multiple media, primarily printmaking and fiber arts. She pulls inspiration from folk art, heirlooms, ancestry, magic, nature and whimsy. Jillian is the lower school art instructor at Camelot Academy and a regular instructor at the Durham Arts Council. She believes that creativity is a sacred birthright and helping folks discover and nurture their own creativity brings her great joy.

Barbara Younger

Barbara Younger is a mixed media artist who create swhimsical acrylic paintings, collages, gel prints, and alcohol inks. For Barbara, tearing paper is both constraining and freeing. Perfection isn't in the plan. Her art celebrates what's festive, quirky, and intriguing about our world. Though she started painting only a few years ago, she has sold over 800 works of art through galleries, art shows, art festivals, and online.

He will be sharing his collection of sketchbooks and talking about his inspiration, discipline and practice of keeping his journals. He’ll also be talking about the products he enjoys using and how he experiments with new mediums.

Amanda Crabtree

Amanda studied printmaking and video production at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before moving to Los Angeles to work for Marvel Animation Studios on projects such as Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., Ultimate Spiderman, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Her work led her to do pre-vis design, storyboard artist, and illustrator for multiple animated productions including Disney Jr.'s hit series Spidey and His Amazing Friends.

Join us as Amanda demonstrates some of her Linocut work as well as how she brings digital tools into her practice to create finished pieces.
