Artist Demonstrations

We are thrilled to be hosting Artist Demonstrations during Hillsborough’s Last Friday Art Walk this 2024 season. We are excited to offer a look into the making process of art, as so much of the Art Walk shows the final results. You will have lots of interest and questions in what you are doing, whether it’s a coordinated demonstration, or just you, set up working on a piece in-progress.

Event Details:

1 Artist featured and advertised each month: Your work will be showcased and promoted through Anne & Arthur's social channels, as well as HAC's marketing efforts.

Pre-selected categories of making: Submit as soon as possible to secure the date of your choice. We'll be removing date options as artists sign up to prevent any accidental double-bookings, as they will be first-come, first-reserved. Rest assured, if any scheduling conflicts arise, we'll work closely with you to find a suitable solution.

Potential Categories: Painting (Open) [2 slots], Printmaking, Drawing, Watercolor, Collage/Mixed Media, Pastels, Illustration, Modern Urbanist Art, Book Arts. Other categories may be considered depending on the work.

Expectations: We're looking for artists who are lively, friendly, and engaged in creating their craft. We encourage active interaction with viewers, answering any questions they may have about your work.

Setup: Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to set up and be ready to start at 5pm. Don't worry about the weather—artists will be stationed indoors, and limited parking will be available next to the store. If this impacts the work you would like to make due to ventilation, we can work with you to set up outside under a tent.

Sales: You're welcome to bring your work to sell, though space may be limited. Additionally, we'd love to stock the materials you'll be using for sale. Please provide us with a list of your preferred materials as soon as possible. If you're interested in collaborating with us to create kits for sale, feel free to reach out.
